Benchmarking
In 2005/2006, FESTEL CAPITAL organised a best practice/ benchmarking discussion round with industrial parks for selected infrastructure areas. Conceptual questions such as operating and maintenance budgets and costs as well as performance and price models were discussed - in selected areas a rough benchmarking was conducted.
In 2007, due to the highly satisfactory results, the benchmarking exchange was continued with the existing participants whereby the scope of infrastructure areas was widened and new participants joined the discussion round.
The developed benchmarking and best practice methodology is well suited to evaluate best practice in the field of industrial park infrastructures.
It should be necessary for each industrial park to understand the individual performance level and to adapt best practice in all areas. Therefore, the benchmarking and best practice discussions will be continued.
The next steps are the recruitment of new participants to widen the network (data basis and experiences), especially outside Germany, and the further development of methodology towards an integrated analysis tool.
